How to host System Link Lobbies [EASY]Posted:

Recently I have seen a lot of people who have no idea how to use their JTAG/RGH console. Many of these people bought the consoles simply to host System-Link lobbies for Call of Duty, so I thought that I'd make a very easy guide on how to host System-Link lobbies.
What is needed:
-A JTAG/RGH console
-A retail console (Unmodified xbox)
-An Ethernet cable
-A patch (Below)
-A copy of Modern Warfare 2
-USB Flash Drive (1GB+)
MW2 Patches:
Black&Yellow v3:

MW2 Title Update:
Installing your game and patch:
Step 1:
(Preparing game for install)
Put your Modern Warfare 2 Disk into your JTAG/RGH and launch XeX Menu.
Step 2:
(Creating Modern Warfare 2 Destination Folder)
Scroll over to your Hard Drive (HDD1) using the bumpers and press "Y" once you are there. This will give you a list of options, select "Create" and when a text box comes up enter the name of the game "Modern Warfare 2" Click done when you are done.
Step 3:
(Installing Modern Warfare 2 to your Console)
Scroll down to the folder that you created and open it using "A" then press "Y" once it is open. This will give you the options you just had. This time select "CopyDVD" (Your disk-drive will open and at this point make sure that you have your copy of Modern Warfare 2 in the Disk Tray.) The game will then install to your Modern Warfare 2 folder.
**Once this is done installing REMOVE the disk from your JTAG/RGH**
**You will need this on your retail console later**
Step 4:
(Downloading Title Update Files)
Step 5:
(Opening your USB in XeX Menu)
Insert your USB flash drive into your JTAG/RGH and open it in XeX Menu. (Open it by pressing "X" and scrolling down/selecting "Usb0")
Step 6:
(Copying your Title Update File)
Find the file xxxxxxxxxxx (Numbers) .TU (It will be the only file with the .TU ending), hover over this file and press Y then select Copy
Step 7:
(Navigating to your Hard Drive)
Navigate to your Hard drive using the DPAD (You should see it switch storage devices each time you press one of the sides on the DPAD -- Keep doing this until you see HDD1)
Step 8:
(Pasting your Title Update into your Cache Folder)
Open up your Cache folder and press Y to open your menu, then select Paste
Step 9:
(Installing the Remaining Files to your Hard Drive)
Go back to your USB flash drive and open the menu using Y copy any remaining files (one-at-a-time) and then paste each one into your Modern Warfare 2 folder on your Hard Drive.
***If you have followed all of the steps up to this, then you now have Modern Warfare 2 Installed with its latest Title Update, you will be ready to host System-Link lobbies soon***
Step 10:
(Opening a Patch)
Step 11:
(Putting a Patch on your USB)
Copy all of the files that are inside the folder that opens up in Winrar (Dont copy the entire folder, just the contents inside of it)
Paste them onto your USB
**RENAME THE Default_mp.xex to any name you want, I use the Menu name****Example: BlackAndYellow3.xex**
Step 12:
(Copying your patch onto your JTAG/RGH)
- Insert your USB into your console and open it by pressing X and selecting Usb0
- There will be 2 files that you need to copy:
- (WhateverYouNamed.XEX and a file with a .dll ending)
- Copy the .XEX file by pressing Y and then Copy then press X and select HDD1
Open your Modern Warfare 2 Folder and press Y then Paste
Repeat this for the .dll file
Step 13:
*** You have successfully installed your game / title update / and your patch ****** You are now ready to start hosting ***
To start your menu all you have to do is press A on the file with the .xex ending that you just placed in your Modern Warfare 2 folder.
How to set up for hosting System-Link Lobbies:
Step 1:
(Connecting to your router)
Step 2:
(BLOCK XBOX LIVE CONNECTION)
****** WARNING ******
****** Do NOT connect to Xbox LIVE ******
****** If you connect to Xbox LIVE your console will be banned ******
To avoid this, I recommend you follow this tutorial on how to block your Xbox from connecting to Xbox LIVE and change your Family Settings to block Xbox LIVE connection before continuing.
**Remember to write down your passcode somewhere safe**
Step 3:
(Game Setup)
Launch the .xex file that you installed earlier
Select System Link
Select Create Game
Set the settings to whatever you wish.
***MAKE SURE THAT XBOX LIVE UNLOCKS ARE ON***
Start the match.
Step 4:
(What to do on your retail)
Put your copy of Modern Warfare 2 in and start the game.
Select Multiplayer then System Link
(Your JTAG/RGH game should show up)Join the game that shows up
(Make sure that you are signed in on two different accounts -- a different one on each console)
Step 5:
(Back to the JTAG/RGH)
Launch your menu (either by RS, LT+RS, or the DPAD -- Depending on what menu you are using)
Look for either Player Menu Host Menu or Verification Menu and find the account that is signed in on your retail xbox and select Verify
Thats all you have to do, enjoy using the menu on your retail console in System-Link.
As long as you have Xbox LIVE Unlocks On, then everything you unlock will be there on Xbox LIVE (Including prestige/rank/unlocks/calling cards/achievements/ etc.
