This is my first project I am willing to 'release' on ttg. It's a small site I have been working on for about a month or two and has been built up entirely from scratch. Although it is far from finished, I look to add more tools and options soon. The means of which the site is structured allows me to easily redesign entire layouts so if you have any suggestions on the look and feel of specific elements or entire pages please say.

Though, it's nothing big this is merely a project to add to my statement and so I don't expect much of it. If you think it's cr@p fair enough but, it is one way for me to hone my web development skills. I have to admit I spent more time attempting to be creative than actually working on the server sided scripts.

The website: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
if that doesn't work: techberry [dot] org

It's very much in its infancy and of course there are so many bugs that I frankly can't be bothered to identify let alone address. So hence, partly the reason why I have made this topic. I would like to see some feedback on the design and functionality and perhaps to point any flaws or issues.

Of course I did use some open source pieces of which I will link here:

* For the Questions and answers platform I only used the basic markup and styling, all the backend scripts are from scratch

Also a Javascript library for the syntax highlighting on 'Scribble Code'

Also for all those people considering making a forum, it took less than 3 days to build the basis on this site from scratch and so it's clearly not too difficult to do so (although admittedly it isn't great). I may release the source code soon and if on demand.

On the final note I would point out some known issues that I have been too lazy to fix:

*ScribbleCode is having a complete nightmare at the moment, It seems to have an illegal character that I can't find and is making the scripts not save properly

The logo on IE seems to overlap and the shoutbox on IE is f*cked, (Though to be fair I only started on the shoutbox about an hour ago )

Upvoting some answers does not work and you can actually upvote your own forum posts

Contact page does not actually email me because my host is f*cking it up

Although the site isn't javascript dependant some pages and elements don't work without it enabled
There's lots more but I can't be bothered to list every single one

If you find any holes please say, although to my understanding it should be pretty secure. Though on the more recent tools such as the QA and shoutbox there may be some holes, feel free to try and hack it and congrats if you manage to do so but I do have intrusion detection systems in place so please don't do anything stupid.

*Also I'm aware that you may get blank pages that say 'error' on them because I really don't have time to introduce sessions just to display elegant error messages on what really shouldn't even be happening.

Don't flame.
Thanks.
