That scale of the Universe website always blows my mind.
On the scale of stars/planets video there were some fake stars.

The fact that are sun is closest star is irrelevant and everyone knows that. You know what he meant by saying Proxima Centauri.
Also, that link you say he should add is already in the post.
This leads me to believe that all you did was skim through and comment with your poor critiquing.

There are over 300,000,000,000 stars in the Milky Way alone. There are more than 100,000,000,000 galaxies in the universe. Can you imagine how many stars are in the universe?

The closest star to us is Proxima Centauri. It's a little over 4 light years away from us. That's nothing though. The Milky Way is an average sized galaxy, it's diameter is 100,000 light years. The observable universe is about 14,000,000,000 light years across. There may be much more though, as the universe is expanding every day.

*One light year = 10,000,000,000,000 kilometers!

Interesting Facts:
If you were to look at a picture of a different galaxy every second, it would take 4,000+ years to get through them all.

There are more galaxies in the universe then grains of sand on Earth.

With current technology, it would take us 80,000+ years to reach the nearest star.

It's insane how small we really are compared to everything else out there. There's gotta be other forms of life somewhere out there, since there's so much more out there.
