Firstly, Demons are supposed to be the disembodied souls of Nephilim, which, using the BDB Lexicon, means 'Giants.'
1/3 of Angels were supposed to have become Demons, meaning that there are 44,435,622 Demons divided into 666 legions, comprised of 6,666 Demons.
They were used to explain why people became ill, had nightmares and got headaches.

Personally I think they were invented for balance.
God has his Angels, the Devil needed his demons.
Without fear God wouldn't be able to control us.
The illusion that we are special to both sides is what keeps us going, a self fulfilment that millions of people decided to go along with.

So, no I don't believe in Giants and lost souls inhabiting little girls and making their heads spin round.

I tossed religion once I learned to think for my self and realized some things about the world. Along with religion went the belief in demons/gods and afterlife. However, in this cruel world we live in there are things close to demons which are simply humans who are just pure evil.
