If a 5 inch phone like the galaxy s4 ca support 1080p, a 14 inch laptop surely can with no problem.

OP like everyone else said, don't get the alienware. There are many other laptops in your price range with incredibly better specs.

New Haswell CPU + New Nvidia GPU, 1080p screen. Not a slow hard drive either like most laptops of this kind.
