Hi i have been having problems with windows update ever since i updated to windows vista service pack 2 i own a dell inspiron 1545 laptop
i have avast internet security i ran that no threats detected i have defragged my HDD and ran disk cleanup
i have tried to run windows fixit and it said it fixed a problem with windows update but windows update still dosent work

In situations like these it is best practice to type in the error description and code into google as that is your best chance of getting results for your problem. Refer to this article i found on the Microsoft forum; it may be a fix to your problem.
