Is there such a thing as soul mates?
For example if you would class 2 people as soul mates if one or both lost their memory so they had no recollection of who that other person is would they still end up soul mates?

Personally, and quite pessimistically, I don't believe in 'True Love' or 'Soul mates.'
To me, both suggest outside interference.
I would much rather believe that you fall in love with someone of your own accord.
It's your chemicals causing you to feel the way you do about someone and that is something that should never be brought down to just 'Soul mates.'
Basically, I don't believe in pre-determinism, so no.

As much as that would be pretty cool and nice, I seriously doubt it. I just feel there are people that just really attract you that not many people can do to you. I think the term 'soul-mate' just makes them feel more suited for each other. If people lost their memory of someone, I am sure they would still have their certain preferences in people (at least most of their preferences.) That little experiment to determine "soul-mates" just wouldn't work correctly.
