Campaign was better?

They're supposed to continue the Campaign, besides IGN who does actually Rate stuff well gives it a 9.8 and the Community gives it a 9.1
9.8 because reviews are bought and paid for.

This ^^^ everybody knows review sites like IGN pay much more attention to triple A titles and developers.

Continuing the story doesn't make it any different... Halo 3 was a fantastic end to the the original trilogy that we all fell in love with. Halo 4's campaign just felt so static and linear. It was the least enjoyable Halo campaign for me (besides ODST), but of course that's all opinion.

As far as multiplayer goes, Halo 3 will pretty much always be preferred. Everything was balanced and equal, with less "rock paper scissors" that is in Halo Reach and Halo 4. Everything was simple and staightforward. Look at other incredible games that were simple and praised, such as Gears of War 1 and CoD 4.

Halo 3 never got boring. I sold Halo 4 after a month, once I hit level like 80 i felt like i already did everything. If people think Halo 3 is better than Halo 4, there's no need to complain. Video games are down to taste and preference for the most part, respect other peoples opinions and they'll do the same for yours.

Some reviewer was sent a letter by Microsoft that said if he gave Halo 4 under a 9.5/the equivalent to his rating scale, they would stop sending him any reviewer copies of their games. I'll even try to go dig up the picture if you really want me to. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] I don't think you understand how much IGN (or any big reviewing website for that matter) sucks off big name publishers for the sake of their "support".

Onto what the topic is about. Halo 4 isn't a bad game technically, it's just terrible as a Halo.

The multiplayer
They took everything that made the multiplayer unique to Halo and took it away.

-instant respawn
-HUD indicators for weapon spawns
-HUD indicators for when you hit an enemy or are near a grenade
-NO ranked playlists
-loadouts taken multiple steps past reach
-orbital drops
-killcams
-limited to no friendly fire (depending on playlist)
-join-in-progress

Just one or two of the things by itself wouldn't be too bad, but NONE of the things I mentioned belong in halo, NONE OF THEM.
Without a timed respawn and friendly fire on team slayer, the game does not play like Halo.

The campaign
It's average. Nothing more, nothing less.
- The pelican missions felt like they were just recycled from Reach
- The stupid QTE end boss is just lazy design
- The "romance" between the Chief and Cortana was like reading a fanfic

This is why people don't like the game. You wanted reasons? There's your reasons.

While i liked Halo 3 better than Halo 4 i personally think that it was a really well made game. I don't really understand why people are generating so much hate towards it

TheDalyGamer wrote I think it's more balanced how you don't have classes in H3 so everyone starts off with the same guns and have to fight for power weapons throughout the map. Also, vehicles are effective in H3. In H4, you can take out a Banshee with a DMR which is insane.

I Think customizing you're classes are balanced because you have to level up to get Spartan Points which get you weapons, basically all the weapons are balanced sorta. You have to shoot over One in a Half clip from the DMR Long range.... And you do fight for power weapons throughout the map, Halo 4 and Halo 3 isn't supposed to be the same.

Well if you are a diamond account on Horizon, you can just unlock everything on Halo 4. You will get all armors, emblems, weapons, etc. Only thing you don't receive is the specializations.

Yes, Halo 4 is a great game but its almost like its too easy. I've played through the campaign very easily on legendary solo in a few hours, while on Halo 3 and even Reach it took me a day or two at most. The ranking system on Halo 3 was far better, mainly because I prefer an actual rank rather than a number and because it wasn't a system where I could go 5-13 and still have a chance to rank up. Halo 3 had to options Highest Skill and XP. It had a vibe that just kept you playing, while Halo 4 seems like a mashup of Call of Duty with the custom classes, and ordinance drops (killstreaks) and the ranks.

Don't get me wrong, Halo 4 is a great game but Halo 3 is still a far better game in my eyes.

OH, I forgot about Custom Games. Halo 3 dominated in that aspect. I met many friends and had lots of great times on Halo 3 custom games.

Halo's 3 multiplayer was just more fun. Including Public and Custom matches. Then the campaign was good in Halo 4 but it was incredibly easy on Legendary. It seemed like there was no increase in challenge at all. Anyway I would say Halo 4 was a good game and I liked it but there is no possible way it is better than Halo 3.

Edit- Also the multiplayer got off the path of the original Halo's. I'll admit Halo Reach started it but Halo 4 went overboard. It's like they went to copy CoD. I don't want to play CoD though and a lot of people who play Halo don't either. That seems like the reason why a lot of people dislike it. Took away from the roots and tried to balance the multiplayer. Not what made Halo fun.

If you really want Custom Games Halo Reach was the best at Forge and Custom Games no doubt about it, I though the classes and Ordinance drops were cooler and more balanced 343 Said they put in ordianced drops to make it more balanced in Halo Reach (and I think Halo 3) where you know exactly where the power weapons are.
