Yeap, unfortunately I've witnessed that myself. The thing that gets me the most is, just because they have acquired a badge, they think their above everyone else. So they'll talk down to you like your a child, being directed by your parents. I'm sorry, but if some person I don't know, talks down to me, cop or not, I will talk right back in the same manner. I don't take kindly to anyone that does that stuff, just because you hold that badge, doesn't make you anymore of a person than me. And it's hard to respect a person if they can't seem to offer the same for you.

I feel you man. Sometimes it can be scary to talk back to a cop but that's why people need to learn they're rights. Every citizen. I've seen so many videos of cops v law knowing citizens and they inspire me to learn my rights. Cops are very sneaky too, and will try to get you to say the wrong thing just once so that you're in trouble.

I agree. In my area, I saw a cop talking on his cell phone while driving, wearing sunglasses and eating, at midnight.

Why?
By the way, talking on the cell phone is illegal here. I've seen them flick lights on to go through a light and even speed up to 100 mph. (Long story short, I'm on the highway going 80 between 2 other cars and a cop flies by, and I can't even see him anymore after I go around a bend). I was speeding, I'll admit it, but that's overkill.

I don't even understand how they can use their laptop while driving, it's more distracting then a phone.

I completely agree, but they still do it, and end up in lots of accidents. But, are still driving on the road that very same day. Since they have that all mighty badge, they believe they're invincible, and are an exception to the law. Why? you may ask, it's because no one does anything about it. For whatever reason people feel threatened by some average Joe, and I can't seem to realize why. The only real reason I can see is that they posses the power to detain you, but on what grounds do they have, if you're following all laws completely. Make sure you follow the rules, and they have no authority to detain you for whatever reason.

This brings up the new viral video with the cop shooting the dog. Now in my aspect, I would have done no different, I am an avid dog fan, and hate to see them mistreated, but if I feel as though it's a threat and has intentions on hurting me, don't think I won't pull a gun and fire upon it. But it would have all been avoided, if the cop didn't unlawfully detaining a bystander video taping an arrest. The video tapper did no wrong. He was on a public street and wasn't close enough to pose a problem (in the way) to the officers. But of course, they abuse the power all because of that badge, and unlawfully detain him and confiscate his camera (i'm assuming), and then at which the dog jumps out the window which led to it being shot. But like I said if that problem did arise, and I was in the officers place, I would have did no different. But of course if the bystander that was detained, lashes out and tries to go after the police unit, it won't get anywhere, just because they'll make up some stupid excuse as to why they arrested him.

Exactly, we have the internet, so there is no reason as to why someone isn't informed on the rights given to them at birth. And people also don't understand when cops are unlawfully doing something towards them, but are to ignorant to notice it.

People shouldn't be afraid to talk back. They're just your average person dressed up in a suit and have the authority to detain you, but that's if your doing something illegal.

Yes, cops are sneaky, and are taught to twist your words and their meanings to dig deeper. Just got to pick your words carefully, and think before speaking.
