-Tim wrote We would not die instantly due to the fact that it takes a while for the photons the sun gives off to reach earth. Vsauce went into great depth with this.

If the sun did disappear we wouldn't know about it for 8 minutes as that is how long it takes for light to reach earth from the sun.

No more life.

Sun gives us light and heat without it there will be nothing to support life so we would die.

maXam wrote We could survive, but seriously there would be mass panic and most humans will die.
There would have to be shelters built to withstand -72 degrees celsius which is -100 degrees fahrenheit. But another though is animals would struggle to live and all plants will die, so where would food come from ?

thats when people start eating people

I didn't watch the video, and I'm not exactly sure, so no hate please, but wouldn't the earth sort of just float out in space with no sun? Nothing to orbit around?

If the sun suddenly either A. Disappeared or B. Suddenly imploded humans would have 8 minutes to live, as it takes 8 minutes for light to travel from the sun to earth. The earth's temperature will then plummet that low survival is minimal, we lose air supply as there is too much cold and humanity is dead as we know it.

That's Science for you!

You're correct until you mentioned air supply.
There is actually 1000s of years worth of oxygen in our atmosphere even without plants we would have 1000s of years worth of oxygen

It's physically impossible for the sun to just "disappear."

It is, you're right.
It's just a thought

There are billions of years of life in the sun still.
