I'm not new to building PC's, but I need some advice or suggestions on a gaming rig as im kind of out of touch with the latest technology and tbh too lazy to spend hours searching through products and parts making decisions when I know some of you probably know better than me. I'll follow the PC Build req form here:

Aslo here is my CURRENT SETUP: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (For refrence on size/space)
AND please read everything before posting a build instead of just reading the budget

Budget (USD):
$2,000 - $2,500 (not counting peripherals/monitor)
By this I mean I want something that is around 2k but if there is something that is really worth adding, and the price goes up that's fine.

Peripherals & Monitor:
Keyboard - have(blackwidow ultimate with the mx blues)
Mouse - have (Logitech g700)
Monitor - I dont know much about dual monitors, and right now I have a 27" which looks great, but that will have to go as it is an iMac. And if you recommend a 27" it should be 2560 x 1440. On the other hand I could get a 24" or a 3 monitor setup, whatever you think is better

Games:
Crysis 3, bf3, tf2, dota 2, skyrim, minecraft, gmod, cs, more in the future when I actually start PC gaming.

Software:
This is where the media part comes in
Reason, Ableton, photoshop, premiere. Pro Tools(maybe) Mostly sound stuff
I'm also interested in a sound card if that helps, I heard you can only achieve 7.1 surround with one [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Aesthetics:
see my current setup to see how much space I have. It's enough for a 3 monitors. I'm fine with having a large case but I also do care about the aesthetics. Not TOO fancy but i like lights and something that looks clean/sexy. Those cases that are clear on one side so I can see what I built look cool and so does a liquid cooler so I dont have to worry about overheating.

Rebates/Promos:
I live in the US and saving money is always a plus, as I am using my own money to buy this build (not my parents) :p

Details:
I want something new/up to date
I also care about reliability, dont give me something that has a 2 star review or something nobody has.
I want a 27" monitor and 3D ready is a plus, along with blu ray.
Idk if I should get an SSD or not if my budget allows for that but I will need a lot of space (>=1tb)
I will be running either windows 7 or 8, so this is not a hackintosh.
This will be primarily a gaming PC, but I also want to be able to play movies and create music on this. I don't want something that is ONLY good for gaming and I cant do audio work or video editing on. I also want to get >100fps
Also as an audiophile, will a soundcard be better or a DAC/amp. Also I will take any speaker suggestions if you know what you're talking about. The speakers will not be part of my budget.

When:
I will probably buy all the parts for the PC this weekend, and I have the cash ready. For the speakers, I will get them in 2-3 weeks most likely

Any help is appreciated

I've left you to decide the monitor and sound card, because frankly, sound cards are not my forte, and I'm sure you can fill in your criteria better looking for a monitor by yourself.

That 6 gig graphics card is a bit overkill. Not the graphics itself just the 6 gig part.

He will be gaming at high resolutions on multiple monitors. It'll pay for itself in a few years when VRAM becomes more and more relevant.
