So my iPhone 5 decided to go for a swim in my kitchen sink. its in rice and works 100% fine, but their is water behind the screen and its kind of irritating, what are my options? already called apple and said id have to pay 249.99 for a referbed phone, and no one locally does any work on the 5 yet.

Buy a new screen but thats expensive.

New screen = 150

It is extremely easy to fix though.

Try leaving it in between 2 peices of bread when you go to sleep, it can make a big difference!

You must be asleep while the phone is in the rice, it attracts asians that fix it for you.
;)
Your best method would be to buy a new screen and replace it yourself, my friend did it on his smashed iPhone 5 and got the screen for about 100 GBP.
Good Luck.

Try to use a blow dryer on lowest settings and aim it towards up in the speaker/charger so it gets behind the screen.

I wouldnt do this. The air will move the water, it could go to a place that shorts out and ruins the phone.

What i would do is wait and see if it evaporates. Leave it in rice for a few days. Then go from there.

Fill up a plastic bag with rice and bury your iPhone it the rice. The place the bag on top of a radiator while it's on. Sounds weird I know, but it does work. Obviously the best thing to do would be replace the screen.
