I'd firstly say, have you made sure the system bus wires are plugged into the motherboard correctly? By that i mean the wires going from the power/reset switches to the motherboard.

umm yes and sorry Ive been on vaction this weekend, but I did have them plugged in and I think it could be RAM as this mother board doesnt quite accept this RAM card. I looked it up(the RAM card numbers) and searched for it on the motherboards website for the accepted ones and it did not match, so could that be the problem? it not accepting the RAM?

What do you mean not accepting the RAM? Do the notches on the modules not match where they are in the slots? Its common for manufacturers to not list every single compatible kit as the list would be endless.

Which motherboard and RAM do you have?

its in the link i provided you with on the main post, but I mean that the model number for the RAM is not matched with any on the motherboards compatible RAMs if you go to this website ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) and look for the rams model number you wont find it, so im assuming the current one I have is not Compatible.

I found it in the compatibility list, however like i said earlier they aren't able to test their boards with every module.

Make sure every other component is fitted correctly. I would remove every part, and then replace it.

I have reseated everything and now have RAM that is compatible but it still does the same thing when I try powering it on, it just boots for a split second, led and everything comes on for a sec, then it turns off. Could it be that the PSU isnt strong enough? Maybe need more than 550w ?

99% Likely the power supply, but don't hold me to that. Had the same problem when building my rig, Got the PSU and it would only turn on for a second then turn the computer off. Contact Newegg/Rosewill and sort it out with them is the best bet.

Like truetech said it is probably the psu and could you try plugging it into a different outlet in your home because the one you are using now might not be giving the pc enough power.

I'm thinking that it has to be the psu and yea I've tried different outlets, read that one somewhere, but more than likely I'll send it off and get a different psu, does anyone know how powerful of a psu I should get? Like 600 enough or higher? I just don't know how to calculate the required psu or find out how much is required.
