When you get to larger resolutions both your monitor and card have to work harder. It could be your screen although it is 1080p is not capable at preforming at max at 1080p. Try connecting your PC to another 1080p monitor or TV and see if you have the same issue. If the problem is still there its the card or cable. If it's gone then blame the monitor.
