I Am trying to start a server for Feed The Beast ultimate but Server cant be reached for my friends i am gussing it has to do with outdated software but FTB isnt update to 1.5.2 they are 1.4.7. do they have to have the same client to actualy play?

What do you mean by it cannot be reached be your friends?
What error do they get? Have you port-forwarded?
