Hey guys , so mostly everyone knows what hacking and/or modding is.
Everyone has a separate opinion on this topic in gaming.
My take on this is Modding & Hacking is stupid & pointless.
Why spend so much money on a modified xbox to host lobbies?
No , I don't have a grudge against modders / hackers.
It's just that I hate to see a great & fun game turned into a party for modders & hackers.
Don't get me wrong , it is difficult to get to 10th prestige on MW2 quickly , so I took the modded lobby route , but it gets out of hand on some other games.
What are your thoughts?

I Think hacking / modding is okay. But only in single player, i think that online modding ruins the leader board and game experience.

You must not know the difference in modding and hacking. Modding is using cheap stuff like Horizon and Modio. Hacking is using DDOS programs to send bots to your router to shut off your internet, and phishing and stuff like that.

but on subject I have mixed feelings for it. When I do it its ok, when someone else does it its not.

Well, Modding is fun because I love the rage when I put on my 1.14 Aim bot on Modern Warefare 2 also I host CFG and they start to rage at me.

Hacking is a different thing, that is when a Hacker owns there eqipment and keeps there belongings to themselfs.

I don't know it's hard to choose really.

As other people have already stated and which I'll reiterate, modding and hacking are two completely different things, my guess is that you've just used hacking out of context in this scenario, no worries.

Anyway, my opinion of modding in video games is split. On one hand I think using modified gamesaves and using game modding tools such as Horizon is completely fine. Mods were and are made to take games to another level, to make the game more fun, to make you see it from another perspective, some are simple and have little difference on the game, while others turn games on the head completely. I use mods on PC all the time, and also use Horizon to mod games for the Xbox, I also beta test for Horizon, so as you can see I'm not opposed to it.

On the other hand, I don't support the concept of online modding. To elaborate, anything which is used to interfere with anyone else's gameplay publicly, I don't condone at all. A good example would be to cite what you brought up - CoD modding and the infections and game breaking modifications that allowed players to have an unfair advantage over normal, legitimate players. With online gaming, we should all be on a level playing field. If you want to use these mods privately online, I have no problem with that, but publicly ruins games.

That's my take on modding. I'd also like to point out that the sole purpose of modified consoles such as jtag's and RGH's are not for CoD lobbies but rather for homebrew and playing ripped games. Buying one for that sole purpose is indeed pointless. I'd also like to point out not to you, but in general that mods were done long before CoD was even heard of, it has always been a part of PC gaming and is frowned on more so because of the stigma of CoD mods. Just thought I'd point that out. Not all modifications are a bad thing, just remember that.

Modding has to do with software purposes.

Hacking is entirely different. It could be defined by essentially saying you are virtually breaking and entering or vandalizing.

Anyway, I think modding is fine offline. Online, it's pointless. You ruin other peoples fun just so you could enjoy yourself. For example, God mode. You have fun not worrying about dying, but everyone else has to put up with it.

Challenge/Prestige lobbies I view as pointless. Part of the fun is the leveling up. Personally, I deranked myself in MW2 after my challenge lobby and went through all of my prestiges again.

I totally agree with you 100%
