The universe is travelling faster than the speed of light, you're right with that, however not at an infinite rate:

1. The velocity of such expansion has in fact been measured from the red shifts of light from observable galaxy's etc and so is a measurable quantity and not "infinite".

2. The universe has not been expanding for an infinite period of time because there was a singular point of which the expansion of the universe began and such time frame to our present is not infinite (13.77 billion years).

So, evidently from this the universe is not infinitely large though this is considering a singular universe; I am disregarding multiverses etc. If you are lenient towards string theory then yes the universe(s) may in fact be infinitely large.

I see I didn't explain what I meant clear enough. The Universe is not infinite. However, the idea that the Universe is infinite comes from the idea that the Universe will expand forever, at a rate faster than that we can keep up with, i.e faster than the speed of light. And therefore is regarded as to be infinite, even though still be finite, as the Universe will never be a measurable size, and so can therefore be modeled as infinite, as it is expanding at a faster rate than we can see.

I wasn't arguing against your points made but just saying how it can't (perhaps) possibly be considering as "infinite". Though we can calculate the size of the universe as we do know its rate of expansion and how long it has been expanding for, although maybe not accurately there have many approximations of which are perfectly valid. I admit the fact that we don't "know" the universe is not infinitely large but, we can make some indirect assumptions of which are more heavily backed than otherwise. Though you're right in that we can't geometrically measure or even fathom the size of the universe, I agree with you there.

(Still disregarding string theory)

The problem with answering this question is that can't. Space doesn't just 'end' it's always expanding, when you were born you literally moved the entire universe away from you, same goes for every single bit of mass that is created.

Well I like to think of the Big Bang Theory and if it's true at the end could be the crust debris of whatever blew up.
