I got a problem with my computer it keeps going in powersaving mode for no reason whenever I play a game longer then 5 mins it gives me a blackscreen and then say's powersaving mode and doesn't turn back on then freezes? This has happened for a very long time now and now its starting to frustrate me because I want to start playing on my PC because xbox is getting boring but I can't because my computer keeps going in powersaving everytime I play a game for 5 mins and I've turned off powersaving (when you go away and it goes into powersaving mode)but this hasn't solved the problem and most people answers are call your computer enginner or whatever but my dad isn't going to do that so I don't know how to fix it so please help

I know you said you turned it off, but let's just verify.

In Control Panel, under the 'Small Icons' view, click the 'Power Options' dialog box from the second column.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

While you're here, go ahead and make sure your power plan is set as 'High performance'.

Now, we're going to be focusing on the two option dialogs here on the left; 'Choose when to turn off the display' and 'Change when the computer sleeps'.

Open 'Choose when to turn off the display' and make sure both drop-down boxes say 'Never'.
Now do the same thing for 'Change when the computer sleeps'.

Let me know if that fixed your problem.

I've done that and it hasn't fixed the problem at all and my dad won't be able to help because he and my brother are going on holiday tomorrow so he won't have time fixing my computer and i'm on the edge of throwing this computer in a garbage truck because all it has done is cause problems but this problem is the most annoying and I don't know how to fix it.

I only want to play some Skyrim on PC because its beast and I understand it might be slow because of the graphics but it shouldn't go into powersaving mode at the very start of the game I can't even go past the intro without it powersaving and freezing so Idk what to do .

Do you have any third-party display programs installed, like DisplayFusion? If you do, that could easily be your problem.

Also, right click your desktop and click 'Personalize', at the bottom right you should see 'screensaver'. Make sure that says none.
