Many gamers, if not most, prefer engaging in some heart-stopping action with their friends rather than doing it alone. To help ensure you get the best features possible, the new update will have improved voice quality, by upgrading the audio codec, thus guaranteeing a better Xbox LIVE Party, when you feel like playing a multiplayer game with your buddies, catching a sports event, or even a movie. Also, the bright minds that came up with this upgrade made it easier for you to choose a Gamertag. I know how frustrating it can be when thinking about a Gamertag and coming up with a great idea to realize it is already taken, so you will now be able to choose from some suggestions. As your Avatar will spin a wheel, you will be presented with five alternative options at a time to choose from. You will also get a virtual keyboard, so that for example, signing up for LIVE within the dashboard will not be such a burdain anymore.
How many of you get sick of pressing yes, and next, and ok until your hand goes soar before being able to download what you want from Xbox LIVE Marketplace? Well, the solution is a reduction of steps you have to take before getting where you want so you can acces the games and content you are searching for without even breaking a sweat. Also, the Avatars will be more proportional for an improved experience while playing Kinect games. The connection to a wireless network has also been simplified. You will be able to see a list of the networks your console is in range of and select one or configure the one you are already connected to. You will also be granted the ability to sign-out other controllers. After all of these great improvements, I am happy to announce a last one. Finally, you can show off your impressive collection of Achievements and completed games, thus instead of being able to view only the last dozen games you have finished, you will have a new way to browse all of them.
That being said, I am sure gamers all around the world cant wait to improve their Xbox 360 LIVE experience as soon as this update will be available, so get ready and as soon as it arrives, get your hands on it because it really sounds like its worth it.

The release date for the new xbox 360 dashboard has been announced as the 4th Nov 2010, source xbox live nexus. You can expect a new Xbox Live experience right before Kinects November 4th launch. Microsoft has already gone public with the ESPN and Zune features, and now it wants to fill you in on eight additional changes that should make the experience even more enjoyable. Heres what you can expect.

1. Improved voice quality: the audio codec is being updated to improve Xbox LIVE Party chat audio quality. So grab your friends and jump into a multiplayer game, catch a big sports event, watch a movie or do all three.

2. Improved experience for changing your Gamertag: choosing a new Gamertag? If the Gamertag youre looking for is already taken, your Avatar will spin a wheel and we will provide five other Gamertag suggestions at a time for you to choose from.

3. Streamlined in-dashboard virtual keyboard: weve taken the existing QWERTY keyboard in-dash and made it easier to use for scenarios that involve repeated text entry, for example when signing up for LIVE within the dashboard.

4. Improved Xbox LIVE Marketplace UI and browse experience: the Games Marketplace has been re-organized to provide streamlined access to the games and content you want, reducing the number of steps it takes to get to a download.

5. Avatar changes: weve made your Avatars slightly more proportional so you can better play Kinect games

6. Easier to get on a wireless network: trying to connect to a wireless network? With the next update, youll see a list of all the wireless networks within range when you go into network settings. From there, youll be able to select a new network or further configure the network youre connected to.

7. Ability to sign-out other controllers in the sign-in UI: were adding the ability to sign-out profiles on other controllers in the sign-in UI within the Guide. This is especially useful when playing games like Rock Band.

8. New browse experience for 100% completed games: you spent a lot of time and effort earning those Achievements, so instead of only being able to view your first dozen completed games, were giving you a new and better way to browse all of them.
