Hi TTG, this is your chance to be involved in something big that can make a diference to many lives.

Help Stanford University scientists studying Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's, and many cancers by simply running a piece of software on your computer.

The problems we are trying to solve require so many calculations, we ask people to donate their unused computer power to crunch some of the numbers.


What is protein folding?
Proteins are biology's workhorses- its "nanomachines." Proteins help your body break down food into energy, regulate your moods, and fight disease. Before proteins can carry out these important functions, they assemble themselves, or "fold." While protein folding is critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology much of the process remains a mystery.

When proteins do not fold correctly (misfolding), there can be serious health consequences, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, AIDS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many cancers.

If we better understand protein misfolding we can design drugs and therapies to combat these illnesses.

Just a warning, if you don't above average PC/Cooling System it can overheat the CPU and GPU on the higher settings sometimes. So just make sure you put it on light settings or keep an eye on your temps. Should not happen just a warning. However, if any happens TTG is not responsible for any damage in any case. Again, should not happen, just a heads up.

C'mon everyone time to make a difference! However much or little you can donate is worth it. You can even leave your rig on overnight and it'll work just aswell.

My Grandparents both have Alzheimer's, I will definitely joining this cause!

It has affected my families life greatly and hope it doesn't happen anyone. Great cause.

Remember guys & girls, you can contribute as much as you want from the web control panel or advanced system tray, so if you want to fold while using your rig then choose something like "Light" usage or "Medium". If you fold during the night then choose "Full" and then you can bag the points!

Be aware that depending on your cooling setup Full may increase temps so please give them a check once in a while
