I found this one pretty interesting...

A 27 year old man was swallowed by a Hippo, and lives to tell the story.

And you thought you had a bad week? This dude was swallowed by a hippo. And yep, he lived to tell about it. Recounting his ordeal for the Guardian, Paul Templer says that when he was 27, he had a business taking clients down the Zambezi river in Africa. One day, a rogue hippo attacked him and three apprentice guides. Templer says he was suddenly engulfed in darkness; "there was no transition at all, no sense of approaching danger. It was as if I had suddenly gone blind and deaf." He also recalls a "terrible sulphurous smell" that makes us even less inclined to want anything to do with hippos. Miraculously, Templer escaped, but not without major wounds he got mauled so badly that one of his lungs was visible, and during surgery he also lost an arm. Hungry, hungry hippo indeed.

I guess he managed to clime right out.

I wriggled as hard as I could, and in the few seconds for which he opened his jaws, I managed to escape.
