Hi.

Seeing as this is the graphics discussion board I thought I might try to discuss this.

" A professional is a person who is engaged in a certain activity, or occupation, for gain or compensation as means of livelihood; such as a permanent career, not as an amateur or pastime."-Wikipedia

So there you have it, you're not professionals. I'm willing to that if you're hanging around on the tech game looking to do some work for some COD obsessed basement dwellers then you're not a professional. You look like an idiot calling your work professional. Say what you like about it but don't lie and say it's professional or that you're a professional.

Some of you might charge money for your work. Still that doesn't make you a professional. People that do graphic design for a living don't charge a shout-out and $2.

Now discuss.

Its not used in its exact sense on forums, its used to distinguish between people who know how to do it, and people who regularly do it to a high standard.

Its like a lot of the internet, not all of it translates to irl meanings.

Pros can be garbage, as with the literal definitions.

But those same professions are paid to work, and work and produce quality service/goods.

Naturally, this tranfers over the internet as anybody with "skillz".

"expert" is probably a more precise term.

Well I think they are comparing themselves to beginner artists, so in that way they are pros.

Some of them could be professionals. You never know. Some people actually do have jobs working for graphic designers, and they come on here in their spare time to make a few bucks. You are right professionals don't actually charge $2, but on here... TTG I mean, it would be crazy to charge anything more because most of the people are teenagers who don't wanna pay much, and only want something simple done.
