That's how it is in Russia. I lived in Russia for a year and noticed how somethings are different from there and America. In Russia if you see a woman struggling you should help them no matter if you don't know them. If you're seen passing them by you will be called out on it. Same goes for elderly people, when I was in Russia I was with my uncle and this older woman wanted to cross the street and this younger kid no older than 6 years old helped her cross the street. Another thing is if you are on a bus and a pregnant woman or elderly person has to stand because there are no empty seats people will stand up and offer them their seat. Now of course no place is perfect there still are people in Russia who don't care or are douche bags as well.
