Ok, short rant here but I was talking to someone I work with, just general chat to pass time. We were all cool until he asked what music I listen to, I said punk and he called me an emo freak. We were talking for a good couple of hours before that all being fine. I don't see how people can just judge people by what they listen to. I hate all the mainstream crap (No offence to anyone who listens to it of course). Besides, punk isn't even emo, or screaming or anything. And even if I was an emo, I shouldn't be called a freak and looked down on. It's just stupid what people are like at the moment to be honest.

I have no problem with other music, unless, it puts a specific group down.

Exactly, I'm not harming anyone by listening to it and to be honest some of the bands I listen to support good causes like bullying ect. That's not the first time something like that has happened either. I get it all the time.

Only "music" that I HATE is DubStep. No instruments, no vocals, just two transformers having sex, then at concerts, its just hitting a space bar. Most people only listen to it to be "ahead of the crowd"

Ah yes, I get a heap of comments towards my music. I listen to Post-Hardcore, which essentially is screamo but with clean vocals as well. So the usual comments arise, which is "you can't understand it" or "this music makes me want to kill someone". Well, we all have our preferences, though I can't stand rap, I don't go around telling fans that their music is complete trash.
I'm just as entitled to listen to screamo as people are with rap. So why put down my music when I keep my mouth shut about yours?

I don't care what people think of the music I listen to. It doesn't bother me when they listen to a certain type of music and if I don't like it, I just simply don't like it but I'm not going to bash on them because of it.
