Hey TTG,
I need everybody reading this to give me an opinion.

I don't know whether to get an Intel i3 3220 or to get a cheaper (but with more cores) processor?

Please all give you opinion, everyone's matters.
Also best opinion / help will get REP.

AMD and Intel are both good, it depends on budget, other components, what you will do (gaming or rendering)

Get anything that is AMD if you are going to be gaming, I reccomend the AMD 8350 FX 8 Core-Processor. It is AMAZING, works with any motherboard that is AM3+. If you want a motherboard that is compatible with it, a suggestion would be a Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ from Asus. Need anymore computer help? PM me, I got you covered man.

AMD is the way to go. My computer is built to military standards and costs $1700. I play LoL for Redbull and I have to have a computer built like a tank for all that I need to run. My build can just about stomp any computer it wants, it costs less than a mac, and could crush it on every scale. I put a LOT into my computers, I may be only 15, but I've spent my entire life working with computers and I can show you my build if you PM me and you can google them and see if any fit your needs that you will like.

So, wanna put an 8350 up to the test against an i5? (Hint: You'll lose)

You can't seriously be this ignorant, can you? Also, what do you consider military standards? I'm assuming you have a motherboard that is marketed as 'Military Class III'? Marketing is marketing, and it in no ways means that they actually use it for military use. You spent $1700 on a pc to play league of legends; clearly, you do not know what you are talking about and should stop.

OP, an i3-3220 will be perfect for your build. More cores does not equal more power, nor does GHz clock. A 4300 is more comparable to a Pentium, while a 6300 is still beaten by an i3. Intel's CPU architecture remains superior, and it is for that reason that AMD is not a viable option at this time.

Also, I am no Intel fanboy; I simply am stating the facts. If AMD was better performance-wise, I'd be glad to switch over, but currently, it's not.

This. If you absolutely have to go with AMD. At least get one of the CPU's in the Phenom series. In my opinion, the last good CPU AMD made. Although their cards are excellent
