Unfortunately Hip Hop isn't even in the same league as the some of the music that was released between the early and late 90's. However, there are still some rappers out there keeping the game alive. Here are my favourite mixtapes of last year. In no particular order.

First up, B.o.B. I didn't care much for any of his albums. He even says the same on one of the tracks on this mixtape, F**k Em We Ball.

Joey Bada$$. This kid is going to be huge and 1999 is an incredible tape.

Capital STEEZ. Joey's good friend who unfortunately took his own life. He had the potential to be one of the greats. AmerKKKan Korruption is amazing.

Meek Mill. Dreamchasers was incredible, but, Dreamchasers 2 is even better. My favourite tape of last year.

Mac Miller, of course. This was no KIDS but I really dig the trippy feel to Macadelic.

Papoose. One of the bosses. He finally released his first album after over 20 mixtapes. This was his latest tape, Most Hated Alive.

Stalley. This muslim beard wearing motherf****r is amazing. Pretty much anything on Maybach is and Savage Journey to the American Dream is no exception.

Rick Ross is boss. Rich Forever.

Action Bronson. Blue Chips is a 5 star tape. He also reminds me of my favourite emcee of all time, Vinny Paz.

Casey Veggies. This dude is unbelievably underrated. Customised Greatly Volume 3 is dope.

Now of course, there is a few a feel deserved a spot but this is a top 10. Here's a couple links to some 'honorable mentions'.

Sir Michael Rocks - Lap of Lux [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Marcus Manchild - Space Jams 2 [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Wale - Folarin [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

All the provided links are mixtapes and are free to download. Some may need an account at Dat Piff, but if you are a Rap music fan, you should have one anyway.

I remember downloading Macadelic the moment it dropped. But I'm wondering why 90's Gold by Honey Cocaine wasn't up there.

Her new mixtape - Thug Love came out the other day. It's amazing too.

I also liked Chip - London Boy. Had tons of big names on it.

I have done a UK mixtape list too. It's on my blog here, [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . It features Chip's London Boy tape!
