How do you make the End Portal work?

You need to put eye of ender on each block to create the portal but it won't work

If you are playing survival mode you need to find a stronghold inside that you will find the portal but to use the portal you must collect 12 ender pearls (endermen drop them when you kill them sometimes) once you have 12 you need to go into the nether and collect blaze rods (found in and around nether fortress) then use them rods to create blaze powder then use the powder and the pearls to create eye of ender

take the 12 eye of ender and put them into the slots on the portal inside the stronghold

make it three by three and put eyes of the ender inside them
