According to the father of quantum theory, Max Plank, in his famous Nobel Prize speech for physics, he said that the discovering of the quantum can only be explained if we posit the existence of a divine matrix;

A field of consciousness within which all matter arises from and goes back into.
Plank's belief was formalized by Neil Bohr who said, "Electrons, atoms etc... only exist in so far as we are aware of them"
He created the Copenhagen interpretation which states that matter only come into existence after consciousness collapses the quantum reality.
This interpretation is still the interpretation used today in quantum physics.

Basically; All of reality is made out of consciousness and something only exists if you or someone else perceives it...?

Questions: So if no conscience perceives something, does that mean it does not exist? If it does not exist, how does one perceive something that doesn't exist to make it exist? Like, there are planets in this universe that I am sure no one has perceived. That should mean it doesn't exist. So when we get out into space, we shouldn't see anything besides what we currently see with telescopes. I may have gotten what you said all wrong, but these questions just hit me after reading it.

That's the point in why I don't believe this theory.
For it to be true, there would need to be a Universal observer.
Something watching over everything simultaneously;
a God.

Quite an interesting theory, it can get very confusing, very fast

Ah, now I understand this. I should have known that 'divine matrix' meant a god of some sort. I just didn't put that into the equation. Thank you for clearing that up. I'm not feeling this theory either. I'm ok with there being a god, but not that things only exist when then they are perceived. Never agreed with the "if a tree falls when no one is around" thing.

I enjoyed reading this, but I don't believe in the theory.

Seems to be the same concept as, if nobody hears it, it doesn't make a sound.

Well there is a lot to quantum mechanics than anyone can imagine and if you think you understand it you don't. I've had countless lectures regarding this topic and it contradicts all assumptions I've made in and about life.

However, I don't think the concept of a universal observer being "God" as how I see it. The idea behind quantum theory sees everything in the universe as energy and matter upon observation. So from that God only exists if we associate with him and as we're not observing God, he's not interpreted as an object. We associate God through faith rather than observation so without us God would not exist. I see God as a figment of humans imagination, collaboratively perhaps.

But the concept behind the results of an observer comes behind the double slit experiment. If any of you take Physics up at uni this would be the first experiment you see. In a nutshell its conclusion shows that electrons act as particles if observed and waves if not.

So simply observing something has an affect on its potential..
