How to install Avatar and Kinect Updates to 16203Posted:

Please note:
This is not a Dashboard Update Tutorial.
To follow this tutorial, You must already be on the 16203 Dashboard.
To check what dashboard your currently on:
Press your guide button on your controller
Go to 'Settings', Scroll down to 'System Settings' then hit [A].
Now click 'Console Settings', Scroll down to 'System Info'.
On the right hand side, it will tell you your dash.
2.0.XXXXX.0 - The 'XXXXX' is the dashboard your on, and if it doesn't say 16203, You need to follow another tutorial first.
Now we have that out the way, Im pressuming your on the right dashboard to follow the tutorial!
Step 1:
Download this System Update:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
If you get an error about being to greedy, right click the link and select 'copy link address'
then just open a new tab and paste it it, should be good to go.
Step 2:
Use winrar/7Zip or something similar to extract the folder to a USB stick.
Step 3:
Once you have the '$Systemupdate' Folder on your USB, Go ahead and insert it into your JTAG/RGH.
Step 4:
Once You consoled Booted, You should be prompt with an Update, But Continue Reading before confirming anything.
If, you don't get a notification to update, you may have to try boot in to XEXMenu, then you should get the notification, asking for an update.
Once you have received your update notification, please check that it looks like this:

If its the same as the image above, then go ahead and confirm it, wait for it to complete and your console should restart.
You now have avatars and kinect support!
If it doesn't say that, then it will most likely say:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
In this case, Do NOT download the update.
This means your on the incorrect dashboard and is not safe to update as it's a complete update which may alter bootloaders and burn efuses.
If you got the notification the same as the above, it means you was not on the correct dash and should reffer to the top of this post for more details.
If your not on the 16203 dashboard and would like to update:

2. A Copy of Your Nand Which can Be Called Multiple Things! (updflash.bin, nand.bin, nanddump.bin, and flashdmp.bin!) You can retrieve your nand by Flash360
3. And you will need the latest version of J-runner! All downloads will be at the bottom!
Now Let's Begin this tutorial! (:
Step 1: Open J Runner up and go to where it says "Source File" hit browse and open up your nand image!
Step 2: Now go where is says CPU Key enter your CPU Key and hit the button Re Int you should see it load at the left and it should say "Nand Initalization Finished"
Step 3: Now you need to select what type on Jtag/RGH you have. Reminder: If you have a RGH you MUST choose if you have a RGH1 OR 2 INSTALL!
Step 4: Now go to select dash and go to Add Dash it will pop up for you to type in 16203.
Step 5: Only do this step if you are running a RGH if running a Jtag Ignore this. You will need to check the LDV Info in the your KV_Info. You are going to need to remember the number it shows. Now go to Advance and find "Look Down Value" Change itm one number higher then press OK.
Step 6: Now that you have done all of the steps above hit Create Image it should load and be successful. If you get an error go back to the steps and make sure you did everything correctly.
Step 7: There will be a Folder on your desktop with the new nand image! Now go flash it to your JTAG/RGH and BAM YOUR ON 16203!

It doesn't matter if you have already updated, thats the idea.
Just use that one instead of the link i provided for you.

I've literally tried everything to get this working and as a last resort I thought I'd write a new nand and see if that works. as i booted nand flasher on my xbox a notification popped up saying
A system update is available for this game.
Do you want to apply the update now?
Is this a safe one to accept or not?
