I want to say, in MY OPINION... I HATE the new YouTube layout. I feel like you are limited and you can't be as free as you can with the previous one, and ones before it. It's not like it's insanely important, but I think it's pretty important... Why is there no way to see if someone is partnered and I know you can put links in the corner now, but they are just limiting the freedom of what you can call your own and I feel like they took a big chunk out of YouTube, personally. Also, I think the channels are more difficult to navigate through and are way less user friendly. And if you haven't noticed, you MUST update your channel to the newest layout in order to even see how many subs you have. What is that BS? If I wanna keep the old layout, let me keep it and don't FORCE the new UGLY one on me. Finally(For now), I just feel like we are being limited on what we can do to our channels and being given unattractive layouts to work with.

I'd like to see other peoples' opinions on this. Especially partners and designers.

UPDATE
I have a new idea... I forgot that Google bought YouTube out basically and now I think does this mean they are making the decisions on what goes down? If this is Google trying to update YouTube or Google getting new people to make the layout or making it themselves.. They should change things quick. If anyone else has any idea on this please reply?

I'm not a fan of the new layout either, like you said it limits you.

It seems like the last few layouts have been worse.

Ya I don't like it because you loose the functionality of having a partnered background, or having any style to your your OWN channal, they are trying to make everyone the same, when everyone is not

i hate it but i guess we'll adjust to it sooner or later. I also hate how they've shown the subscriber number on the old layout confuses me every time.

The new layout, the new YouTube One Channel is one piece of sh*t idea from YouTube.

The one who was before your previous, that was the layout I loved, I can't remember when it was there but the layout looked kind of like this;

Probably around 2011-2012.

From there, all of YouTube's layouts have been worse, and they keep getting worse, but now they've reached the bottom, nothing could be worse than the new one.

This affects not only the GFX community, which are limited to a little banner, but also everyone else on YouTube, now everything looks boring, you can't even change the color of your page, a white annoying backgrounds is what you have to get used to.
