I honestly don't understand when people whine about how they miss how TTG used to be. Yeah, the layout and theme has changed but apart from that everything is exactly the same. We still have our leechers, our scammers, our immature children, spammers and bandwagoners.

I came on this site for the same reason a large portion of you did, the lobbies, and since the day I joined I have memories of all these types of people. And yet, people complain that TTG used to be better? No, it's always been the same old TTG we all know and love (of course with some new faces). And also, TTG is not going downhill, I don't understand why people say that either. We get hundreds of new members everyday. Some of them will be bad, some will be regular members, and some will become well known and helpful contributers around the site.

There is no popular site without scammers, leechers, etc. and as the site becomes more and more popular the population of the site will become larger and larger. And as that population grows larger so will the amount of unwanted scammers and leechers and whatever.

People complained about how they wanted the old TTG before I was even a member on this site over 3 years ago, so stop with it. The way you see this website (as far as people go), has always been the same!

They are not talking about the layout they mean the community and fun it used to be. Now its all about gold and rank and post count

We joined on the same day but I do think the site used to be better. Back then all there really was were people leeching for lobbies. Now there is more spam, everyone trolls. Having gold actually used to mean something. Now people get gifted after being here a week because some idiot wants a badge. There was a Contest/Giveaway forum because you didn't have to worry about getting scammed. There was negative rep because you didn't really have to worry about some stupid kid -repping you for nothing. The General Discussion wasn't filled with people asking for girl advice or the post we see every other day where someone is "going to the army" or someones dog died. I guess that's just what happens when something gets popular.

That's a great point, when things get popular they do change.

You make some valid points Cuban, growth wise the site is doing better than ever, having over a million members is fantastic, and when you have that amount of members, of course you are going to have unruly members who act like idiots and post garbage, it's part and parcel of a forum.

I do completely agree with milkxking though, he has hit the nail right on the head so to speak. Quality wise the site is not even a shadow of itself from a few years back. Every community starts off the same, great people, good quality posts and it feels like a community and from that stems great memories. After a few years the site is the polar opposite, we still have great members and people but the bad far outweigh the good. Post quality wise, the site has never been worse, a mature discussion cannot be had and to top it all off it doesn't feel like much of a community, people only care about post count, rep, thanks and badges. They do things solely for the latter, rather than doing it because they want to help out or have an interest in doing so and that in my eyes is sad.

The site quality wise was better before than it is today, however the site has grown unbelievably since then. I guess the site is what you make of it, I still enjoy coming on, but nowhere as much as I did. Most of that stems from that fact that mature or insightful discussion is impossible to have without idiots missing the point, not having a clue what they're talking about or just spamming to increase their post count.

So all in all, the site isn't nearly the same what it is, you're entitled to your opinion Cuban, but the reality of it is, that the landscape here has changed completely since we joined. This isn't the same site we always knew and loved, but at the same time things aren't going downhill. Things inevitably change and they have, and we must adapt to the change and push on in order to help the site strive.

You guys are actually both right. The quality of the posts isn't what it used to be and the community isn't as tight as it was, but that is something that is unavoidable. It comes with popularity, and now with over a million members you couldn't expect that anymore. Also, there are still quality threads and posts, I think they're just harder to find. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the website. Nice replies.

I sometimes say "I miss the old TTG". Im refering to the people that I knew here, who are now gone. Also, I don't really like this theme, but I am getting used to it.
