No it's not. Every pilot and employee are trained to spot the signs and each plane has an armed TSA agent who is highly trained to deal with those situations.

Also they will still know who brings the knife on a plane, and I'm sure the TSA agent gets a list of people with a picture of them.

That dosnt mean the person with the knife cant just decide " oh ima slice the person beside me's throat then slice there own" you should not be aloud to bring any kind of weapon on a plane. Unless its a plane to afgan where you are gonna fight for our country.

Nobody's going to go on a plane to stab someone, and if they only clear certain people there won't be a problem, you act like it's as bad as a gun.

How do you know they wont? thats like saying a suicide bomber wont kill himself. " SUICIDE"

wtf.

How do can you compare a suicide bomber to someone with a knife? That makes no sense, you don't name someone a killer because they carry a knife.

Trust me, nobody's going to go on a plane with the intent to stab someone, same as nobody's going to rob a bank with a knife.

If someone really wanted to kill someone, they would bring a gun, or kill them some other way.

Aside from this, they're also allowing snooker/billiard cues, ski poles, and lacrosse and hockey sticks in the Cabins too.
I can see why this would pose a risk, and although I would condemn it, there will be a lot more racial tension when boarding an aircraft now.
This is a bad decision in my opinion, TSA officer on board or not.
We've gotten along with not having them just fine and dandy since 9/11.
Why change now?
