Okay I realize the answer is probably going to be no, but I still want to know for sure if there's anyway I could change my Minecraft name WITHOUT BUYING A NEW ACCOUNT

I'm afraid not, well not to my knowledge anyway.

The only possibly way is to purchase a new account.

Nope, you can't. The only way to even remotely change your username is to join a server and ask for a nickname.

You cannot change your name, sadly. It would be a cool feature, but would easily be abused (avoiding bans, etc)
Paying for a name change might be a nice feature though. + Players have a unique ID when joining a server instead of their usernames being logged.
