Personally i ride without any brakes, but i took the precaution to make sure i can control a bike properly before doing so, its very helpful at skate parks, so i recommend it, also makes your bike alot lighter.

i ride bmx and no breaks takes less than a pound off so that wont effect tricks unless you are throwing bars and tailwhips. i ride break less and still grab for the break when i am close to a car so if you can throw bars and tricks that make the whole frame spin the go for it.

Personally I wouldn't take them off, the brakes probably don't weight that much, and in the moment brakes could stop you from crashing, or running into someone or something.

Removing your breaks to look cooler and do tricks: A bit of labor work

Not being able to break and bust your teeth: Priceless

I did this for a while just make sure you are not wearing shoes that you like very well. Because if you brake using your shoes they ware down the sole very quickly

Yes, your bike feels so much lighter. I always just end up putting my foot on the back tire and burning off some shoe haha. Only do it if you are confident that you can stop when you're about to get into trouble.
