They do not put the price that high to rip off all of their customers. If they made the console like 200$ starting price, they would be selling them to you at a loss, because it costs more to make the console than its selling price.

If the PS3 is priced that high, it better bring some games that can beat out the ones on my $3000 PC, if not then I'm out. However that does seem a little high as a speculation.

I just don't get why they would put Watch Dogs at $100 on Amazon


It is just a place holder so people have a reference to how much it will cost at the most. They usually only do this to confirm that the game is coming out.

The reason they charge so much is because of the free Online they have, so they expect people to more money upfront.
