Hey guys i just bought a Elgato Game Capture for Trick Shotting. Besides the point I looked at the minimum system requirements and I meet all of them exactly. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] I have a 1 year old Acer laptop 4 gigs of ram a dual core Pentium 2@ GHz with windows 7 ,But when i record for over 5 minutes or so my recording starts to lag and the sound gets behind and will freeze. When ever I try to watch it in media player it crashes. Its very annoying and I paid good money for it.I tried putting the softwares priority in task manager on high, I've also tried lowering the bit rate. Could it Be my hard drive write speed? Any help would be very appreciated. Im very frustrated I should of bought the HD PVR 2.

Check the capacity of your laptops HDD, also it most likely spins at 5400 RPM so that could be a factor. When you fill up a standard HDD over half of its rated capacity, it slows down significantly. Try uninstalling and deleting anything you don't need to reduce space taken up on your hard drive. If the video continues to lag as your record, buy an SSD or a faster and larger capacity drive. I remember recording from my HDPVR (original) to my gaming laptop with a 5400 RPM HDD, and I had no problems whatsoever, though I did have 8GB of ram and a faster i7.
