Ok so I just got my New mod today and I was curious on how to set my speed on the customizable mode PLEASE HELP

You hold up on the d-pad and press RT and now the light should be flashing and you press up on d-pad to increase the rate of fire and down on d-pad to decrease and left and right are for the pulse but i don't understand the pulse so if you know anything about that can you tell me?
