my hard drive shows up on my jtag but when I plug it into a normal xbox it don't show why ? I have formatted the hard drive and it still don't work

What kinda console and harddrive (and HD size) are you using?
Lets say you have a 500 gig harddrive on your jtag, you can't just put a non microsoft harddrive into a retail (if your planning on connecting to live), IF it works it'll only show up as 16 gigs, and you'll have to format it with the xbox first to make it work. Again if it's a non official harddrive only 16 gigs wlll show up.
Are you trying to for example move jtag content like a game, XBLA, or DLC to your retail? You can't just put the harddrive in and think it'll work.
