Wasn't expecting you to comment on here. But yes I have suggested to my parents to call them, but they say no just deal with and all like that. So I'm like whatever.
My dad didn't want to switch ISP's, but he did upgrade to U-Verse. U-verse isn't the best, but mine now has 12mbps. So now I can download things at around 1.5 MBps max, which is a huge up from my whopping 300KBps. Try to have your parents upgrade to U-Verse it's so much better, and the installation shouldn't take that long, an hour at most.

Exact same thing i was telling my mom yesterday , she called them and they raised it to 6mbps ( or whatever its called ) for only $5 more a month + $50 installtion fee . They should come by in like 2 weeks and install it . Hopefully it lets me play xbox while someone else is on our wifi.
