Why do you need 32GB RAM, that's a bit too much IMO, it will just slow your PC down. Also, what hard drive and power supply have you got?

overkill on RAM.
Do you edit? or do you just game on it? If so, the i5-3570k would've done the same job.
(Personally) I prefer AMD over NVIDIA

Rating: 8/10 (The RAM brought it down)

Nice build though

Lower the processor and ram and get a 660 ti or 670 with the money you've saved if you haven't built this yet. RAM to 8GB and CPU to i5 3570K, that is what I have told everyone today, I feel like a broken record lol.

You'd be better with this motherboard;

and this RAM;

It would work much better and will be cheaper than your build. Good luck.

That really isn't the best he could get.

CPU: i5 3570K or i3 3225 (whichever fits the bill)
GPU: HD 7850/7870 or 660 Ti (Whichever you can afford)
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LK or Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
RAM: DDR3-1600 Corsair No More than 8 GIGS

It's nowhere near the best, better than what he had though. I was just recommending parts in case he was on a tight budget and couldn't afford to splash out! Also, the RAM I recommended IS DDR3-1600 8GB Corsair!

Yeah, fair enough. Your parts would be definitely be better but the ones I chose were for a budget build! The i3 processor you chose would be better for my budget build than the i5 I chose!

I wouldn't recommend a low-voltage i5 dual core like the 3470T. If he wants a cheaper desktop i5, he could get the 3350P or 3330 if he wants to have the integrated graphics as a fall-back option if he ever has to run it without a discrete graphics card. There's also the 3450 and 3470, but what you should get depends on what the pricing is at the time of purchase.

This 7770 is a lot better as well: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
