For the combat knife blood thirstys can I get 4/5 kills with a regular gun then get the final with the knife and it count?

Oh damn't... I'm raging so hard trying to get these, I loved the combat knife up until now and now it's just pissing me off...
Last challenge to gold and I need 3 more blood thirstys.

There used to be a glitch were u could get the 4 kills with the gun then the last one u could get with combat knife then it counted as bloodthirsty for the knife
But ya u need 5 kills with that weapon u cant get like a grenade kill or car explosion u need all 5 with knife
Also just wanted to say i love the combat k ife too its boss
