Which one is better for Xbox 360?

I know there's forums for both of these but I posted it here because it's about both of them.
Basically, I'm looking to buy a zombie game which I will enjoy. Let's say they are both around the same price. I'm only going to be playing single player on the game since I don't have XBL Gold.
I'm looking for the one which is most realistic in terms of Zombie survival. For example, the only way to kill a zombie is to take its head off etc.
I did consider Dead Rising 2 but since it is more of a fun/comedy game I eliminated it from my list.
I'm also looking for the one which will keep me occupied for the longest.
Which one is better and why?

Defiantly dead island, its the best zombie survival games I've ever played.

I love dead rising: off the record. It's like 10 dollars now. Dead island is more realistic though

They are both different in many ways that they are not even close to pick, I would make a topic like DayZ or WarZ ect even those are PC games they are vary close

They're both overall great games, but if I had to choose which one I prefer most, I'd have to choose Dead Island.

Left 4 Dead is a great game, the campaign is fun especially on online coop with friends.
I played through each game one time, I didn't really see any replay value.
The story is fun though and leaves you with loads of zombie killing.
The online, at first it's a blast but in my opinion it gets pretty old over time..
If I never bought the game to begin with and know what I know now about the game, I would've just borrowed it from a friend or rented it.

Dead Island is a fantastic game! The campaign is great and is probably one of the funnest games I've gone through with friends. You can just wonder about killing zombies, doing quests, and going through the story. I went through the game 1 time legit, and 2 times with modded weapons. All 3 times, I had fun. Dead Island has a decently sized campaign with some "ok" DLC but I wouldn't recommend buying the DLC..
Also it helps that a new Dead Island is being released, so you can go through the first then move to the second with a general idea on what's going on.

Both are fun games and keep you occupied for quite some time, as I said I personally prefer Dead Island.
