OK, I got my laptop and it worked perfectly on it's first day, but on the second day, whilst I was using it, the laptop turned off for no reason!

When I turned it back on it said, resuming windows and then a black screen came up but I could still move the cursor around.

At first, I thought it was just booting up but then, after 20 mins, it still had the black screen.

Then I unplugged everything and left it off overnight but in the morning, it was still the same!

Please help!!!

Where did you buy the laptop and did you buy it brand-new, user, or refurbished?

I got it from cashconverters and it was pre-owned but by the look of the laptop when I first got it, I coud tell that it's last owner had barely used it.

load it up to the point where you can move the curser

then press "ctrl" "alt" and "esc"
if the task manager loads up then you have deleted the desktop configuration
but if not youll have to restore it for factory settings and go from their

hope to be of use

That didn't work, it just played the same sound as when you eject a usb device.

okay, im going to help you as much as i can. first..

Can you access Safe Mode? Repeatedly tap F8 as you boot? If so you can try Control Panel
- Device Manager - Display Adapter - Double Click on - Driver tab - click UPDATE driver -
then Right Click on Device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to access the desktop (try in both regular Windows and Safe Mode)
is to CTRL + ALT + DEL and on Process Tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it -
then on Applications Tab - lower right - New Task - type in EXPLORER.exe . Safe Mode is
reached by repeatedly tapping F8 as you boot up.

Also if the above does not work, try a system restore.
