So I'm semi out of shape, like 10-15 pounds over my desired/usual weight and I'm looking to get back into running. Besides just being at my desired weight, I plan on joining the army ASAP (21 years old), but I need to shed some pounds first. So I'm looking for a reliable pair of running shoes because the ones I have now (like 3-4 year old Under Armour training shoes) are beat. I tried a pair of AdiZero shoes like 9 months ago, and they sucked. The sole detached and they were very uncomfortable. So I'm looking for like a pair of Nikes.

Anyone have any recommendations. Looking for comfort and durability over color and looks.

I've got a pair of Nike Free Run 2s that I love. I recommend them.

If you're running on cements or dirt trails I'd suggest the Nike Vomero (Any version is fine, just grab a pair). If you plan on going into the army, I'd honestly say grab a pair of combat boots. I spent 6 months on base for basic training, and we ran in combat boots. I prepared for months before entering. That ended up being a complete waste of time because of the fatigue I gained from the weight of the boots. You may look odd running around in combat boots, but you will thank me once you're actually in the ranks.
