I do a lot of video editing and gaming on my computer (MW2 and Borderlands 2) and i am thinking of investing in a solid state for all my video's and games also my OS (win7 PRO). Will this also speed up the times of my rendering in sony vegas 12?
PC Specs:
Intel Core i5 2320 Quad Core CPU @ 3.00GHz
8GB DDR3-1333 RAM
Seagate 2TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive (Slow i know but good)
2GB Radeon ati 6670 (will upgrade to NVIDIA GTX 670m next year)
Win7 PRO
Display:
2x Samsung 22" LCD 240Hz Monitor ($270 each)
The total cost of this PC and display was
$1240
But i need to know if
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] is a good SSD for my rig

.Its fine if you get a 1tb 7200 rpm insted off ssd there is not that much diffrence.And i would get a better videocard other looks nice

Yeah, SSDs are good, but while you're at it, get a 1TB 7200 RPM, do you REALLY need 2TB?
So yes, I'd get the SSD

Oh okay, I know all about fraps haha. I recorded a 6 minute video and it was like 12GB, i was like DAFUQ? but alright

You could always use a RAID configuration and have the OS on the SSD for increased performance, since you need the massive space for videos, and there are no 2TB SSD's, at least not that I'm aware of.

That's not RAID.
OP, get an SSD if you want faster booting times, no noise, no heat, almost zero freezing, and all around improved user experience since everything will feel a lot faster.
A 5000 rpm drive is not ''good''.

Such an ignorant comment. It's obvious you've never used an SSD if you even think they compare to a generic hard drive or they're not worth it, especially for the $90 you pay compared to a years ago prices.
