A LOT of developers hate windows 8.

I have a friend that says he also does not like it. As for myself, I haven't tried it, so I can't judge.

I don't think it's worth it honestly. The UI (in my opinion) isn't really that great. Plus a lot of programs that work w/ Windows 7 will most likely not work with Windows 8 until the developer of the programs put out updates for them. And it is also easier to navigate around your computer with Windows 7 (in my opinion). But it's up to you whether or not you want to upgrade.

Ino valve and notch are one of them, Was just expecting to be faster and involve more features then windows 7 since it is windows 8

As of right now I'm really not too sold on Windows 8. Having never tried it, i really cannot give a direct and accurate answer. But through watching various videos and word of mouth, Windows 8 doesn't seem too hot. I'll probably wait until service pack 1 before possibly upgrading.

If you're a gamer, DO NOT UPGRADE.

I used it and I really didn't think it was that bad but if you are running Windows 7 I would stick with it. My friend told me it screwed some of his hardware up at work when they were installing it.

I have windows 8 on one of my laptops, and will i guess you could say that its very nice... I would upload some pictures of it but im on a different computer right this second... Depending on what kind of laptop/desktop you have it can be very neat.. Windows 8 still has the desktop feature, but then adds this sorta "Tablet" feel when you go into the start options.. You can sync you games, movies, pictures, mail, songs, etc with your windows live ID.. You can buy "Game Apps" with windows 8.. It also has this neat feature called smart glass that i've used with my xbox.. Lets your computer screen be the controller of your xbox, and you can use your computer for a "Courser" for the internet explorer thats on your Xbox.. More saftey features for logging on to your computer.. Better design.. Better features.. Better lots of things, but it took me a week to get used to using windows 8... But overall i DO like it.. Or maybe cause i got it from pirate bay for free.. Lol

Its alright i suppose, but i dual booted so i have windows 7 and 8, dont buy from shop cos its double the price to get on disk,

My opinion:

When you first start, it will take a while to get used to (This is my 2nd day of having windows 8) and im still getting used to it, if your a computer wizz and understand things really quickly (Bit like me) then you will understand most of the basics of windows 8 quite quickly, overall its a good system but i still mostly prefer windows 7 for the easy to use part

Also: Windows 8 is mostly designed for touch screen
