This has been on my mind for as long as I can remember.
Why do we always seem to think/believe that Aliens are more high - tech than us? In every movie/etc. We would be the people who would fall to them with their technology. But, this is just something you would only know if you would look at their perspective. I'm not saying something is out there but I just want to read what you guys reply.
I might edit this later because it's pretty much all over the place.

Considering the nearest 'habitable' planet to Earth hasn't even been found yet suggests they would have to be more advanced in space technology to even reach us.
However, they could be on a closer planet that we would consider uninhabitable but they would consider a haven.

Well there is two sides of this. One, the aliens that come to Earth would have to be more advanced than us to get here (especially how fast they seem to do it.) Two, there are other planets out there that are most likely a lot lounger than our own in which those civilizations could be less advanced than ours. I'm sure we are somewhere in the middle. I don't think a less advanced civilization could make it here without the help of an equally or more advanced civilization than ours. (I say equal only because I don't know how advanced our government is. For all we know they could have the same UFO's.)

First off they would need much better technology than us to survive travel through galaxys if thats where they came from they would need some sort of shields to protect them from the heat of different sund and even asteroids hitting them. We cant even travel to mars :L

Well considering we can't even travel to Mars, and we haven't found a habitable planet yet, would point in the direction of them being more technologically advanced than us.

Love to know why aliens are going to be super high tech and are going to be able to time travel/light speed etc etc etc.

It's because everyone always thinks of it as them contacting us in UFO's and such things but chances are there could be some alien planets just as advanced as we are.
No one really knows to be truthful so we make up stuff so we are satisfied I guess,
