So I came across this video ***skip to 3:10 to see what i'm talking about***

and was wondering if i do this exact same thing,
would i have to flash the key from the original drive to the new one...

I am pretty sure there is no way around having to flash the old key to the new drive.
but this guys video has me thinking along different lines..

is that why this guy is going through all the trouble to swap the chip from the old drive into the new one? so that he doesn't have to go about flashing the new drive???

if you still have to flash the old key to the new drive, i don't understand why he is swapping the chip out of the old drive and putting it in the new one..especially if he is just going to have to use (jungle flasher) anyway

so my question is..if i do what this guy did, does that mean i wont have to flash the new drive? & if i would still have to flash the new drive..what is the purpose if swapping the chips?

good answers will get plus rep
i would appreciate any help with this issue

thanks for your help,
Farenheit

He doesn't say anything about junglefasher as you don't need it. He is demonstrating a laser replacement. He didn't need to buy the whole drive as you can buy a replacement laser by itself. By using your same pcb you don't need to flash anything as it will still have the same firmware and drive key just using a new laser.

This guy makes good tutorials but i sont think you need to flash it unless your are turning you xbox into a Flashed xbox but it your dive is broken you can buy a Real cheap broken xbox of Ebay or something and just switch the drives.
would i have to flash the key from the original drive to the new one...
If your getting a new drive then probably will scene the Xbox have diffident drives. So my guess is yes so you Wont het Banned for swapping drive(MS can detect what kind of drive you have bust by the serial number and such) i would go you your Locale repair shop and ASK them on whats your problem, they would probably fix it for 40 bucks.

Check on craigslist for a close by Console Repair store(thats what i did to get my xbox fixed)

i knew he didnt mention it, thats why i was confused
but seriously! thanks for answering my question bro
hopefully since i have a newer xbox 360 arcade it isn't the pcb that is bad
i have never came across a bad pcb in the past so hopefully its just the other parts of the drive causing the problems. im thinking i might try re-flowing it anyway to see if a solder point somewhere on the pcb came loose..

neways thanks again for helping me out man
i really appreciate it, enjoy the rep
