Halo is by far the best franchise (overall) on Xbox. Halo has gone longer than a decade, redefining what a real, successful game truly is. Halo: CE was considered one of the most revolutionary video games ever made. Not to mention that it won the "Best Campaign of the Decade." It also introduced the Master Chief, who won "Best Main Character of any Xbox game."

Then Halo 2 came out, which raised the bar even higher. It had an amazingly set up multiplayer, and attracted tons and tons of people to Xbox and the Halo series. This game is what really kicked off the phenomenon we now know as Halo.

In between the creating of Halo 3 and the release of Halo 2, they released Halo Wars. A lot of people were pretty skeptical about this game, because it didn't have the chief, nor was it a FPS. But, it was still a good game. People still play it, and it still attracts plenty of players.

Then came the big one: Halo 3. This, in my opinion, is the best Halo. This game was even more revolutionary than the past two. They had reinvented multiplayer, which was damn near flawless. It was one of the most balanced multiplayer games ever, if not the most balanced. They also arrived with a new gametype called forge. Nothing like this had ever been in any first person shooters. They actually added a map builder into a FPS. That definitely blew thousands of people away with how creative Bungie had became.

Now, Halo: Reach is where people think of the Halo series dying, due to the fact that it "wasn't a good game". But, I think it is still a good game. The Campaign wasn't all that great, but I've never really enjoyed a campaign that doesn't have MC as much as I do if it has MC. Also, the multiplayer added armor abilities. I do agree that this does make the game a little unbalanced, but Halo changes in different ways very suddenly. Also, weapon bloom was added. I don't see why people complain about this. Weapons aren't made to be perfectly accurate in video games. If anything this would make the game unbalanced. It also makes it more skillful to hit shots, so it should make the game balanced, not unbalanced. The multiplayer still holds up around 60,000-80,000 people daily.

Now Halo 4 is coming out, and they're introducing a new Halo trilogy. That's right, 3 MORE HALO's. But, Bungie doesn't make it anymore, so people are feeling doubtful about the success of the series. I think some of them forget that it is the most anticipated game of the year. Looking at the gameplay, I think this game looks amazing. It has improved the power of the armor abilities, and balanced them out a little more. They even created an entire new race of enemies. I think this upcoming trilogy is going to be a very, very successful one.

So, in my opinion, this series isn't dying at all. If anything it is gaining power. Halo is one of the biggest names in video game history. Also, 343 is composed of former Bungie, Treyarch, and Infinity Ward members, all who have worked on widely successful video games. I don't know why anyone would think that this series is dying. It's Halo! It will always have a successful game until they stop making them.

But we all have different opinions.

Ok, well, I love the fact you are so into Halo, however, there is a lot of points I think you are dead wrong on.

First of all, reticle bloom does not balance gameplay. Instead it adds a complete element of luck for trigger spammers, so many times I have ripped someones sheild off, only to be left not able to land a headshot, but instead to get killed by their lucky shot.

Also, armour abilities, DO NOT balance gameplay... Again, I will rip the sheilds off, and then be forced to wait while some douche hides in his armour lock, while all his teamates spawn, and come after me.

Now, after looking at the AA in Halo4 I have to say, I think it looks ****... The promethean vision... WTF is that crap!

Now, don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the game, mainly for the campaign at this point, but I daresay I will still spend a lot of time on the MP But I know for a fact, it will not live up to Halo 2 or Halo 3...
