RDCA wrote Please don't make recommendations on our thread. The registry cleaner within any tool is not good for a computer and often leads to many problems, as it is not built specifically for that computer. Which is why I never recommend someone even to download CCleaner. Registry cleaning doesn't even speed up your PC at all, so really you are taking an unnecessary risk.

Also, suggesting a program which is isn't freeware is also generally another no. As it leaves a user in the same position after the trial runs out. Not to mention, everything you suggested Windows already has features to do.

I do agree with the MSE part though. It's very very lightweight, and has very good detection rates. Windows 8 has it built into it, so there isn't a need to install another one. While you can if you want though.

Ok I respect that, but I am sorry but I would have to disagree with your statement.

Certain registry cleaners do no harm to computers as I myself used various registry cleaners on computers with different Operating Systems and no harm was done what so ever.

So that is an invalid statement.

But I only recommend those two programs because they have great reviews and I trust them, there are some programs that could do damage to your computer.

If you have a computer for 3-4 years it is time to clean the registry. You can disagree with me if you want, but the registry does slow down the computer, as I have witness it first-hand, and it is just a proven fact.

But also manually deleting the registry is dangerous and can cause your computer to be unstable, I can say that.

Also you cannot make the assumption that everyone has Windows 8 as I currently do not.

What type of computer/desktop do you have: I have this type of computer Dell Dimension e521. I was going to show you the online manual of it but I can't get the link to copy for some reason.

What type of Os do you have 32 bit or 64 bit: 32 bit.

Have you made any changes to your computer recently: No , not really.

How long have you been facing this issue: For a couple of days/weeks.

What is the specific issue you are having:
AVG said my computer has a trojan and idk what's going on when I go on TTG on mozilla LOTS of ads pop up and my computer is awfully slow. I need to speed this up really badly. PLEASE help me.

For example "My computer is running slow" is a poor way of describing an issue but if this is all you can think of it's fine.

Do you have any internet security and or protection (Not expired): Used to have norton and I believe 30 day trial of AVG.

Please help me out with my issue.
I need my computer to be in good shape again!
I don't want to go out to get it fixed and have to pay ALOT of money.
